Mothers Day

This year I kind of got spoiled:) The kids asked me what I wanted and I told them all I wanted was for them to get along and not argue. Braxton said, "so if you could have anything in this world you wouldn't get a new house or a car, you would just want us to night argue?" I told him yep, that's all I wanted. So, Tevita and I and the girls went for a little ride on Saturday while Braxton went hunting with Grandpa and Uncle Justin. Tevita started celebrating a day early and wouldn't let the girls tattle tale to me, he made them tell him. He told them that if they had any problems or concerns they had to go to him and give me a day off. It was hard for them (and me) but he made them do it. By the end of the night instead of hearing Mommy Mommy all we heard was Daddy Daddy. Tevita had the kids pick out a gift for me so Sipola and Mehi each got me a shirt and Tevita and Lia picked out some cute flip flops. Then on Sunday I received a flower and card from Lia, a card from Sipola, and a card and box of flowers to plant from Braxton. I got a huge kiss and a Happy Mothers Day from Mehi at about 5:00am. They all wanted to fix me breakfast in bed but I wasn't feeling well so I let that slide. Then Tevita wanted us to go to Richfield to visit the cemetary. We went and were able to spend some time there. It made me cry. I really miss my mom. Then I was supposed to work that night but Tevita told me that he wanted me to stay home and rest and he would take my place at work. So the rest of the night the kids and I hung out. It was such a good weekend. Thank you family for making it such a special time for me. Thank you Tevita for all you do for us. Thank you Makalita for raising such a good man. We hope you had a great mothers day. We love you so much and are so thankful to be a part of your family. I hope all you moms out there had a great day!

Cooking

So, those of you who know me know that I'm not that great of a cook. I like to get things done quickly and don't have much patience to wait around. Well, on Saturday night I decided to do a little cooking. Tevita had been in our room and we both walked into the kitchen together. We both laughed, he opened the door and windows, and said this, "it's not your cooking unless there is smoke in the house!" Oh, my poor husband and kids. Maybe I should take a cooking lesson!

My thoughts

So I am having a very hard day today. I am so emotional and I have so many random thoughts running through my mind. This last week I have been so swollen. I called the doctor to make sure I was doing what I was supposed to do. The receptionist called me late on Wednesday night and told me the doctor needed to see me. So, I did something that I have never done before yesterday. I called my one friend to see if Sipola could go to her house so she didn't have to miss school. She told me that her daughter was going to somebody elses house and I should call her. I told my friend that I didn't think I could do that because I have never called this person before and I felt really stupid. My friend, Jen, told me, "let people help you, it will be ok." So I took her advice and called Carrie and she was so nice and said that yes, Sipola could go over to her house. I felt so weird calling somebody that I have never asked before and asking her if my daughter could go to her house. But I felt that it was important for Sipola to be in school and she had a blast! So, to Jen and Carrie I thank you so much. I hate asking for help but I sure did appreciate you. Anyways, I went to the doctor and he talked to me about my swelling. He asked if I wanted an ultrasound to see what the baby was and I told him No, I just wanted to hear the heart beat because I have been so nervous this week. (this is the week I lost all 3 of my boys). So I got on the table and guess what...he couldn't find the heart beat. All I could think was I can't do this again. So, he scheduled me for my ultrasound which was at 2:30pm. So I got in the car and called work. Tevita was on a mountain and could not be reached until about 3 so I was in this alone. I called my bestest friend Heather and she tried her hardest to comfort me. I didn't want to tell my dad because I didn't want him to worry and I tried calling my brother and sister-in-law but I couldn't reach them. So, I drove around Richfield crying and thinking, I am all alone! I called dad to see if Mehi could sit with him while I went in for some testing. He said yes so I dropped her off and went and got my labwork done. The doctor is checking my kidneys to make sure they are ok. Then I sat in the hospital parking lot for an hour and just waited to see the baby. I was feeling so sorry for myself and then I just prayed. I knew that whatever Heavenly Father wanted was what was going to be. I finally got in to the ultrasound room and I felt so yucky. Both techs just seemed sad, like they knew they weren't going to find a heart beat. So the tech started and she said, "there is the heartbeat, look it's so strong." Then the tears came and seemed like they wouldn't stop. They told me they think the baby is a boy but can't tell me 100% yet so I will see again on my next appointment. The anxiety that I went through was so hard yesterday. I told Tevita that I can never go to another appointment without him. Last night I just held on to each one of my kids and thanked Heavenly Father for them. When I hugged Lia I just thought, "I almost lost her" and just hugged her even harder. Today my feet and hands are so swollen. My husband won't let me get out of bed, unless it is to go pick up the kids. I ran into Jen's husband and he said, "please let us know if we can do anything." How thankful I am for kind friends that can look at me and know there is something wrong. How thankful I am for a friend who didn't even hesitate in telling me to bring Sipola over to her house. How thankful I am for a husband who watches me sleep at night and tells me the next morning that he never wants to loose me. How thankful I am for a friend that I call and tells me that she is praying for me all the time and knows my baby is going to be ok and that even though I am stressing she knows that her and this baby are friends and everything is going to be ok. How thankful I am to know that my baby's heart was beating so strong and so far is doing well. And how thankful I am to know that when I am feeling alone all I have to do is talk to my Heavenly Father and I know that I am not alone. I'm so sorry for the long post but I just need to get my feelings out.

Peace and Comfort

This is my peace and comfort today. I love that my baby girl can climb up on her dad and give him a hug and fall asleep on his shoulder. Today this brings me the comfort I need.

Dance Recital

This is a little late but better late than never huh! Last Friday the girls had their dance recital. They did such a great job and Tevita and I were so proud of them. Sipola did a princess dance and also a hip hop dance. Lia did a jazz dance and a hip hop dance. They both did so good and are natural dancers! I am looking forward to seeing them progress through the years. Good job girls!

Out of mouths

Kind of a silly picture of the girls but I had to put it with the kind of funny sayings that I have heard recently. Sipola and Braxton were heading to the car to go somewhere. Braxton says, "I call shot gun" and Pola says, "I call back gun!!!" Then Pola was watching a show with Grandpa Rod about Alaska and there were some polar bears. She tells my dad, "Those Pola bears are named after me." My dad said, "what?" and Pola said, "those pola bears are named after me!"
Today we were headed to Richfield for Braxton's baseball game. I was listening to all the drama about school and Lia said, "This girl (I won't say her name) is spilling my head." I said, "What?" and again she said, "Girl is spilling my head." I asked her what that meant and she said, "I have so many secrets in my head so this girl is trying to spill them out." I asked her what the secrets were about and she that that two girls at school are each telling her mean things about each other and telling her to keep them secret. She said, "what should I do mom, should I let them spill my head?" I told her to just be nice to both of them!
Kids are so cute and it is always funny to hear what comes out of their mouths!

Hospital

Well, this last week has definitely been interesting. On Tuesday Vita started feeling yucky at around 2:30pm. By the time I got Braxton back from his baseball game Vita had a very high temp and was sitting in front of the front room window with it open and not feeling really well. He ended up moving the couch in front of the window and kept it open all night (snowing and all). On Wednesday morning I asked him if I could take him to the doctor. He said he would be ok. By 10:00 am he walked very slowly to me and told me he was kind of worried because his whole body ached and he couldn't move very well. He was also so hot that he was sweating. I called and got him in to the doctor and they checked him out. His temp was 104 and he was satting (breathing) at 80. Normal is 100. So Dr. Brown sent him for some xrays and labs and then admitted him to the hospital. This was Vita's first time every in a hospital (he wasn't even born in one!) and the first time ever needing an IV. HE HATED IT!!! Justin and Teddy came and gave him a blessing and then we found out that not only did he have pneumonia but also influenza B. I guess a lot of people get influenza A but not a lot of people get B. Everybody that came to see him or take care of him had to wear a mask and a gown because he was so contagious. So he got a lot of fluids and medication and oxygen and we were finally able to bring him home this morning. We are so glad to have him home and this for sure taught me a lesson. I am never going to take my husband for granted again. I was so torn between taking care of my sick kids (they are all 4 on medication and doing pretty much the same things as Vita was) and taking care of my husband. I was so lucky to have my dad right there in town to help with the kids. I am sorry that we all got him sick though. It has always been me on the hospital bed with Vita making all the decisions. It was so hard having the roles switched and watching my "untouchable" big strong Tongan husband laying there with that far away look on his face suffering. I couldn't do anything to help him. His fever was so high and he just felt rotten. I never want to see that look on his face again, so you better always stay strong honey! I am so thankful that I was able to call my brother and have him come and give my husband a blessing. The Spirit was so strong in that room at that moment and for that I am grateful. I am glad that my honey is home and going to get better and that the kids are getting better also. I hope we don't have to go through this again! Thanks also to Dr. Brown for taking such good care of all of us!

About Me

My photo
Tevita and I met 13 years ago in Provo Utah. What a cutie he was! In June we will have been married for 12 years. It is hard to believe that we have been married that long but yep, here we are coming up on 12. We have 5 beautiful children that keep us pretty busy. We also have 3 angel baby boys that we know we will be with after this life. We have so many different personalities in this house but there is one thing for sure...we love each other and are grateful for this family! What a great life!
