Journal Post

OK, this one is for journaling purposes. So please feel free to move right along. Anyways, this last weekend was an interesting one. Tevita was supposed to fly out on Saturday morning to fly to Texas so he could help his brother move. We stopped Friday and got all the information from Jamie(sis-in-law) and also the storage unit keys. They left all their stuff in a storage unit in Texas until they bought their new house. And off to Salt Lake we went. We tried not to stay out late because Tevita needed to leave the hotel by 4:30 am so he could make the 6:00am flight. So we got to the hotel Friday and had family prayer and went to sleep. Tevita and I got up at 4:15am and off he went. I cried. No surprise to anybody who knows me. But I cried. The thought of him and his brother driving a Uhaul across country was scary to me. I was worried about them but knew that they had to do it. So I was pretty surprised to get a text from him at 6:15 saying that he wasn't able to get on the flight. (Jamie got him a stand by ticket). So he tried several more flights and finally at 1:30pm he told me to come and pick him up from the airport. The kids and I were pretty excited to see him but knew that he was going to have to try some more flights. We pulled up to get him and Tevon started yelling Daddy, Daddy. Everybody was so excited to see him. You would have thought that he had been gone for months. He started to drive away and asked how the kids had been. I told him that they were good and looked over at him. He had big tears running down his face. I said, "you're upset about not making it to your brother huh". He said Yes and then just cried. He said that he was so worried about his brother. His brother was loading the Uhaul by himself and then was going to drive to New Mexico where Tevita would fly the next morning to meet up with him. Tevita has such a huge heart! He loves his family so much. He wanted so badly to be with Viliami. He worried the whole rest of the night. Every time I would look at him he would be on the verge of tears and he would try to smile but just couldn't. I don't remember him being that sad in a long time. The next morning he got up the same time and out to the airport he went. I layed back in bed and then there was a knock on the door. He said that by the time he would make it to New Mexico his brother would already be past and his brother told him to just come back. Tevita was sad. He wanted so badly to get there but flying stand by you just never know if you are going to get a flight or not. So another long day of worrying. I am so thankful for cell phones. I am so thankful that Viliami was able to call and let Tevita know that he was safe. We were so worried about Viliami, wondering if he was going to be able to make it safely to California or not. Vita knew that Viliami wouldn't sleep much and it worried him. Viliami finally made it to California safely but we know it was so hard for him. He drove the whole way from Texas to California with only a little minutes nap by himself. We feel so bad about the whole thing but are so grateful that his brother is now safe and has all his family's stuff. Now if only Viliami's wife and kids would be able to make it to California it would be so nice for all of them. We are so proud of them and the sacrafices they are making. Viliami has been living in California for almost 8 months now while Jamie and the kids have been staying with her parents in Richfield. They keep getting told that they are going to get to move in but things are just not so easy for them. I can't imagine living apart from Vita for that long. Jamie is so lucky to have her supporting family to stay with. I'm glad that she has her parents and doesn't have to stay alone. As for Viliami, I am so proud of him. He is so smart and puts so much hard work into going to medical school. We pray for him and his family every day and hope that they can soon be together. And as for my husband. I love that guy so much! He always puts others needs before his own. He always tries to make everybody happy. He loves his family with everything he has. He is so proud of his little brother and wishes so much that he could have been on the trip with him. I wish that it would have worked out the way that he wanted it to but I also know that things happen for a reason. I have so much love for my husband. I know this post might embarrass him but I needed to get it on paper. I really want my kids to be able to look back at these blog books and see how things were. I also want them to know how much their dad loves his brothers and sister. Even though they are not around us, he still loves them so much and would do anything for them. That is important and a great example to all of us.

Bad Words

Tonight I said the "P" word. My seven year old said, "Mommy, don't say that. Just say you are mad." I said ok. Then she said, "Daddy, do you say bad words?" I laughed and said "yeah Daddy, do you?" She said, "I know you don't say bad words Daddy cuz you are Tongan." Ha Ha. I know my Tongan family and friends will love this one!!

State Wrestling

Last weekend we were at State Wrestling in Richfield. Again there were so many wrestlers. I felt really bad because Tevita had to work Friday night and all day Saturday so he was not able to attend. So my dad, my kids, my brother and his kids, and I were all there to support Brax. He did so good. I was so emotional. But I held my tears in for a little bit. I was giving Brax pep talks all day long so much that I think he got tired of them. My dad was giving him pep talks all day long also. I finally told him to go sit by his teammates because it was just making me nervous having him by me pep talking. Right before he wrestled his first match he came up and got another pep talk from grandpa. Then he came to me and I whispered to him, "Do your best son and win this one for dad." He shook my hand and told me he would. I was shaking and he was wrestling his heart out! He did so good and pinned the kid in a minute. Right after they raised his arm, he looked up at me and I gave him a thumbs up. Then I looked at my dad and there he was crying! He was so proud of him! Brax was so excited to run up to us and the minute he gave me a hug, Tevon wanted him to hold him. I thought it was so cute! Braxton was so lucky and got to run through the tunnel with smoke and lasers while they called out his name. Then he got to wrestle for Championship. Again, more pep talks, more nervousness, and more emotions. I had to have Justin video his match because I couldn't hold still. Yes, I am that mom at the top of the gym yelling at him to push, drive, pin(knowing that he could not hear me). This one took a little longer but he was able to pin the kid in about a minute and a half. I was so proud of that kid! He has come such a long way! He started wrestling when he was so little and he has always had to wrestle kids that were years older than him because he has always wrestled heavyweight. At this tournament he weighed 211 lbs so he had to wrestle in the 210+ weight class. The first kid he wrestled weighed 235 and the second was 250. Again, they made Brax look so little. But one thing that got through to him this season is that it isn't the size of the kid, it's the heart that the kid puts into it. So, we end this wrestling season with a State Champion and yes, Tevita and I are very proud parents!! Good Job B and we love you so much. Keep up the hard work and never give up!!

Beehive Brawl

Right after Region, we went to the Beehive Brawl. It was in Richfield with about 1,000 wrestlers there. They were from all over the country. There were some really tough wrestlers there. Braxton wrestled great and took second place. The boys that he had to wrestle make him look tiny (even though the pictures don't look like it) They outweighed him by 20 pounds! The first picture is with Brax and his coach, Coach Leavitt, the second is the medal ceremony, and the third is him winning! Good Job B!

Region Wrestling

About three weeks ago we went to Millard for Region Wrestling. Braxton was really nervous. There were a lot of people there and it was a pretty big tournament. He wrestled really well and took 4th place. Good Job B!!

About Me

My photo
Tevita and I met 13 years ago in Provo Utah. What a cutie he was! In June we will have been married for 12 years. It is hard to believe that we have been married that long but yep, here we are coming up on 12. We have 5 beautiful children that keep us pretty busy. We also have 3 angel baby boys that we know we will be with after this life. We have so many different personalities in this house but there is one thing for sure...we love each other and are grateful for this family! What a great life!
