Braxton's Last Football Game for the year

Braxton's last football game for the year was last Saturday. Unfortunately, his team wasn't able to make it to the semi-finals. He is so bored!! We have been driving to South Sevier everyday except Sunday for the last two months. Now, he is so bored he is going nuts! He asks to go over and practice with his dad's team almost daily. Sometimes he goes, sometimes he can't go. He lost so much weight and is concerned about putting weight back on. He asked his dad if they could go running and punching the bag everyday. They are both excited about that! Braxton learned quite a bit and is looking forward to next year. His coach asked if him and his team could do the Haka for the last game so that is why he has the mohawk. Don't worry though, it is cut back to normal now! Thanks for a great football season Brax! We are so proud of you!!

Girls Last Soccer Game

Thursday was Lia and Sipola's last soccer game! They aren't excited about it but they sure had a great season! They only lost one game the whole season and they both did such a great job. It was so much fun having them on the same team. There were two games that only Lia and Sipola made the goals! They worked really hard and it was fun watching them together on the same team. Congrats to you girls for a great season! We love you and are glad that we got to watch you together!

Baby Shower

On Saturday a couple of my friends from Koosharem, Jen and Christina, threw me a baby shower. It turned out great and we got some really cute gifts. Unfortunately, I didn't have my camera. I sent it to South Sevier for Braxton's last football game so I did not get any pictures at the shower. I did take some pictures of the cute gifts though. Thanks to Jen and Christina for doing that. I felt silly having another baby shower since I had one when I was pregnant with Braxton but they insisted on doing it since "it had been 10 years since I had a boy"! They were so nice to do it for us and we really appreciate all those who attended and gave us such cute gifts! By the way, don't mind the pink paint. Tevita just hasn't had the time to paint Tevon's room so hopefully one of these days he will be able to get that done!!

Grandma Christensen Passed

Yesterday I received a phone call from my dad saying that my Grandma Christensen had passed away. She took a nap yesterday and didn't wake up. I cried. I cried not only because I was sad to have her leave, but because this woman was such a heroe to me. I looked up to her in so many ways. I also cried because I thought about all the activity going on in Heaven! I can just imagine the line waiting to give her a hug! And I cried because I truly believe that now she can see. She can see her husband who she has longed for all these years. She can see my mom and my babies. She can see her sons and daughter. There is no more suffering for her. Her prayers are finally answered. (she has been praying to die for at least 20 years now!) I will never forget all that this beautiful woman has taught me. I think about all the times of just sitting in the living room and listening to her stories. Man, do I wish I would have had a recorder with me. I remember her teaching me how to make bread. I sure do wish I could do it like she did it. I remember all the nights sitting at the kitchen table eating bread and milk with a slice of cheese, onion, and ham. I remember her fear of bridges and think about it every time I have to cross a bridge. I remember her stubborness and thanks to her I am so stubborn! Out of all the grandkids, great grandkids, and great great grandkids, I am the only one she ever spanked. I asked her why one time and she said, "because you are the most stubborn child I have ever met!" Thanks to you Grandma!!! I know I just blogged about her hands in my last blog but I will forever remember those beautiful hands. Oh how I hope that my hands will look like hers when I am old! I am so thankful for the opportunity of being able to live with her. There are not many of us that can say that we actually had our own room at Grandma's house. But I can and I am so happy for that. The times we shared during that year I will always cherish. She loved my mom and my dad and it broke her heart that they were divorced. During that time she never said a bad word about either of them. I'm sure that wasn't easy since I was such a trash talker! Grandma always taught us to keep a Temple recommend. She said it would be one of our dearest treasures. She was sure right! I remember driving around in the red car. I was so embarrassed that I actually layed down in the back seat so nobody would know I was in that car. Just the other day I told Tevita how much I wish that red car was still around so he could see what a cool car my Grandma used to drive! When Grandma first met Braxton she held his hand close to her heart. She said, "I wish I could see this little guy but I can feel that he has hands that will take him somewhere. He has the hands of somebody who is strong and hard working but will also play the piano!" I know that as she is up in Heaven she will be smiling down at my son. For that I am grateful! When Grandma first met Tevita she whispered to me that him and her were friends in Heaven before they came here. I wonder if she will find his family and get acquainted with them! I know this is such a long post but I think it is important to get my feelings out about her. I know that I could have done more. I know that I could have visited more. For that, I am sorry. To my Aunt Shirlene, thank you so much for always being Grandma's "right hand man!" She loved you so much and was lucky to have such a great daughter in law. I hope that Grandma had a great reunion with all her family. She taught us so much here and deserves to be happy! She touched so many lives and will be forever remembered! I love you Grandma!

Labor Cake

My friends sent me a recipe for a labor cake. They say that if you are supposed to go into labor in the next 48 hours then eat this cake and you will go into labor. Well, I DO NOT want to go into labor yet but this cake looked and sounded so stinkin' good. I have talked with them and they reassured me that it is safe to eat if you're not close to going into labor. So today I made the cake. It looks so good! I haven't eaten any yet because like I said, I do not want to go into labor yet so I am still kind of skeptical. Anyways, Mehi and I took some to Tevita while he is working. He asked me what kind it is and I told him it was the labor cake. Mehi whispered to me and said, "mommy, what is labor?" I told her that if daddy ate the cake that he would have to work really hard because labor meant working really hard. So on the drive home Mehi said to me, "Mommy, I think I'll just have a bite of cake instead of having a whole piece." I asked her why and she said, "because I don't want to work really hard. I just want to work a little so I'll just take a bite!" What a kid! We ended up coming home and she ate a few bites of ice cream and said she didn't feel like eating the labor cake anymore! What a little stinker!!!

September 14, 2009

This is the day that my mom passed away. It is so hard to believe that she has been gone for 3 years. Somedays it seems like she just left, others it seems like she has been gone forever. I miss her so much everyday of my life. There are some days that as me and Tevita are driving down to Richfield, I just start crying. He just holds my hand and cries with me. We both miss her so much. Tevita found the following and I thought it sounded about right.

God saw you getting tired and a cure was not meant to be
So he put his arms around you and whispered, "come to Me."
With tearful eyes we watched you, as we saw you pass away
Although we loved you deeply, we could not make you stay.
Your golden heart stopped beating, hard working hands at rest
God broke our heart to prove to us, He only takes the Best!

That is so true! He did take the best when He took my mom. I so wish I could have one more hug from her. I wish she would have been there to see my little girl get baptized. I wish she was going to be in the hospital room as her grandson is born. I wish I could tell her just one more time that I love her so much and I am so thankful for everything she did for me. I am so sorry about being a brat to her. She was my best friend and I miss her deeply. I love you mom~

Lia's Baptism Day.
What a great day for her. She had a lot of family members come to enjoy this special day with her. Thanks to everybody who came for her big day. She asked her big brother to talk at her baptism. I think that was so special for both of them. We were all tears and could feel the Spirit there that day. She has been journaling about it for a few days now and I am so proud of her for that. I hope she learns how important it is to keep a journal. I am so thankful for all the Priesthood that were there that day for her. Her dad is so special and she is so glad that he baptized her. We forgot the camera at home so I am waiting for my little sister to email me some pictures and then I will post some for her. Again, thank you to everybody who was here this day. It meant so much to our family to have all of you here. And to Lia, we are so proud of your decision to be baptized. You are so beautiful and were so beautiful that day. You had a glow about you and when you said you were shaking because you thought it was the Spirit, I think that too. I love you sweet little lady and am so proud to be your mom. Also, thank you to Tevita for holding his Priesthood so close to his heart and being worthy to baptize his kids. Ofa atu!

That was the day our beautiful little girl was born. Yes, it was a very tragic day for the United States. Yes, we were torn about our little one being born on this day. Yes, we watched the news the whole time I was in labor. And yes, our little miracle baby was born on that day. She asked me, "mom, why is 9/11 so special?" I told her because it was her birthday. She said, "No,mom, tell me the story about the day I was born." So, I told her all about it. She said she was so sad for all those people that lost their lives but she was so glad that she was born! So was I!!! She also said her prayer before going to school and in her prayer she asked Heavenly Father "to please tell Spencer Happy Birthday for me." What a little angel this girl is. I know that she misses her brother everyday of her life. She asks questions about him a lot. Sometimes she won't let anybody sit by her. We will ask her why and she says because Spencer is sitting there. I wonder how much of that is really true!! It is so hard to believe that she is 8 years old. I can't believe how fast time goes by. Lia is such an inspiration to me and those who know her. She is a friend to everybody she meets. She is such a big helper, I can't imagine life without her. Happy Birthday Lia! We love you so much!! I tried to upload some pictures, however, blogger won't let me. I'm gonna try again later. But for now this needs to be posted!

Email I received

A baby asked God, "They tell me you are sending me to earth tomorrow,
but how am I going to live there being so small and helpless?"

God said, "Your angel will be waiting for you and will take care of you."

The child further inquired, "But tell me, here in heaven I don't have
to do anything but sing and smile to be happy."

God said, "Your angel will sing for you and will also smile for you.
And you will feel your angel's love and be very happy."

Again the small child asked, "And how am I going to be able to understand
when people talk to me if I don't know the language?"

God said, "Your angel will tell you the most beautiful and sweet words
you will ever hear, and with much patience and care, your angel will
teach you how to speak."

"And what am I going to do when I want to talk to you?"

God said, "Your angel will place your hands together and will teach
you how to pray."

"Who will protect me?"

God said, "Your angel will defend you even if it means risking its life."

"But I will always be sad because I will not see you anymore."

God said, "Your angel will always talk to you about Me and will teach
you the way to come back to Me, even though I will always be next to you."

At that moment there was much peace in Heaven, but voices from Earth
could be heard and the child hurriedly asked, "God, if I am to leave
now, please tell me my angel's name."

God said, You will simply call her, " Mom ."

About Me

My photo
Tevita and I met 13 years ago in Provo Utah. What a cutie he was! In June we will have been married for 12 years. It is hard to believe that we have been married that long but yep, here we are coming up on 12. We have 5 beautiful children that keep us pretty busy. We also have 3 angel baby boys that we know we will be with after this life. We have so many different personalities in this house but there is one thing for sure...we love each other and are grateful for this family! What a great life!
