Sipola and Denise

Tonight I have been thinking about this girl and all that she went through. Man am I so thankful that she is here with us today. There was a time that we honestly didn't know if she was going to make it or not. As I was looking at these pictures of her, I realize just how blessed we are to have her here! I was looking through some pictures and I tried to upload one of her and Denise Jackson but it wouldn't let me. I have to say something about Denise. She was a fifth grade teacher at Monroe Elementary. I was lucky to be in her class with one of my special needs students. Sipola was in third grade when she got put in the hospital. There were a lot of people that asked about Pola. There were so many that donated time, money, etc to help us in such a time of need. I really wish I could show the picture of Denise and Sipola. There was one day that Denise was on her way to her home in Ogden and she stopped by to check on us. Denise could tell that we were having a pretty rough day. Sipola was very stressed and wasn't handling her situation too well. Denise brought a lot to us and I'm not sure now what exactly she brought but I will tell you the one thing she brought with her. It was peace! She brought some lotion and gave Sipola a full body massage all while speaking softly and teaching Bear some breathing tricks to do. I found myself sitting in the corner, watching this kind woman help my daughter. When she was ready to leave, she asked if she could say a prayer with us. It was one of the most beautiful prayers I had heard. The Spirit was so strong in Sipola's room that day, I'll never forget it. I will always have a special love for this beautiful lady! I know the Lord sent her to us that day! She brought my daughter and I some peace on a day that we weren't sure we were going to make it. This may seem like such a random post but I need to get my feelings out when I can! If I could give out an award for the best teacher ever, it would definitely go to Mrs. Jackson! She went above and beyond what she needed to do! She is such a caring, thoughtful human being! She made several visits to Sipola and I at the hospital. She took treats to Tevita and the kids at home. She did everything she could to help my family at our time of need and for that I am thankful! I am so thankful to our Heavenly Father to have blessed us with good health for Sipola again. She is doing so much better a couple years later. We still get scared and wonder about what is going on inside her body, but we know she is ok for now. I am so thankful for good friends and family that are always there for us. I love you Sipola and I love you Denise!

Pola and Mehi Parent Teacher Conference
Thursday I went to Parent Teacher Conference for Pola and Mehi. When I went in for Mehi her teacher said, "well, here is Mehi. Such a perfect little girl." She showed me all of her test scores and she is well above her grade. She has the highest reading words per minute in the whole second grade. Her teacher said that not only is she a great student but a great helper also. She is always willing to go above and beyond and always helping her classmates and teacher. I am so thankful for Mehi being such a good student! Then on to Pola. We walked through the door and her teacher said, "Not much to report when you have a perfect kid like Pola." She showed me all of Pola's test scores and she is above grade level on everything except Math. Math she is grade level. All of her scores on everything are high and she is doing well. She has no behavior issues, and is a great student and friend. I am so thankful to go to conferences and get these kinds of reports! We do have great kids and I am so proud of all of them. This is the first year where I have had every teacher describe my kids as perfect! I know they are great kids and I love them all!

Lia Parent Teacher Conference
Tuesday Tevita and I went to parent teacher conference for Lia. We walked in and the teacher said, "well, there is not much to talk about when you have a daughter that is perfect!" She showed us all of Lia's scores, which were all well above grade level. Then she showed us her grades, which are all A's. She told us that she is a great student, great friend, and great leader to all those around! She praised us for raising such a great girl. I am so thankful for this kind of report! Lia is such a great girl. She has always been the second mommy around our house. She is so dependable. She is always willing to help with everything. We love her so much! Thank you Lia for being such a great example to all those around!

I hate gout
There is a disease that is lingering around our house that I have an absolute hate for! It has been around for a while but this last month and a half it has pretty much taken over our lives. It hits my husband in different parts of his body and completely knocks him down. He has been battling this crap for so long and it just seems to be getting worse. He is very strict on his diet. He exercises and has lost quite a bit of weight. The doctors tell us that he needs to follow his diet and exercise. He does that yet he is getting worse. He is missing so much work and feels helpless. It is starting to get to him and for that reason I hate it! To see my grown husband laying in a bed not being able to move breaks my heart. I wish I could take away all his pain. I wish I could help him feel better. I sit and watch him suffer and it breaks my heart. He tries so hard to be strong. He tries to not let it affect him in a negative way. He tries to put a smile on his face for his kids. But I know him and I know his smiles. He is in so much pain. Man oh man, how I wish I could take that pain away. If any of you are reading this, please pray for Tevita. He could really use some extra prayers. I love you Tevita and I hope you get feeling better soon.
