State Wrestling

Last weekend we were at State Wrestling in Richfield. Again there were so many wrestlers. I felt really bad because Tevita had to work Friday night and all day Saturday so he was not able to attend. So my dad, my kids, my brother and his kids, and I were all there to support Brax. He did so good. I was so emotional. But I held my tears in for a little bit. I was giving Brax pep talks all day long so much that I think he got tired of them. My dad was giving him pep talks all day long also. I finally told him to go sit by his teammates because it was just making me nervous having him by me pep talking. Right before he wrestled his first match he came up and got another pep talk from grandpa. Then he came to me and I whispered to him, "Do your best son and win this one for dad." He shook my hand and told me he would. I was shaking and he was wrestling his heart out! He did so good and pinned the kid in a minute. Right after they raised his arm, he looked up at me and I gave him a thumbs up. Then I looked at my dad and there he was crying! He was so proud of him! Brax was so excited to run up to us and the minute he gave me a hug, Tevon wanted him to hold him. I thought it was so cute! Braxton was so lucky and got to run through the tunnel with smoke and lasers while they called out his name. Then he got to wrestle for Championship. Again, more pep talks, more nervousness, and more emotions. I had to have Justin video his match because I couldn't hold still. Yes, I am that mom at the top of the gym yelling at him to push, drive, pin(knowing that he could not hear me). This one took a little longer but he was able to pin the kid in about a minute and a half. I was so proud of that kid! He has come such a long way! He started wrestling when he was so little and he has always had to wrestle kids that were years older than him because he has always wrestled heavyweight. At this tournament he weighed 211 lbs so he had to wrestle in the 210+ weight class. The first kid he wrestled weighed 235 and the second was 250. Again, they made Brax look so little. But one thing that got through to him this season is that it isn't the size of the kid, it's the heart that the kid puts into it. So, we end this wrestling season with a State Champion and yes, Tevita and I are very proud parents!! Good Job B and we love you so much. Keep up the hard work and never give up!!

About Me

Tevita and I met 13 years ago in Provo Utah. What a cutie he was! In June we will have been married for 12 years. It is hard to believe that we have been married that long but yep, here we are coming up on 12. We have 5 beautiful children that keep us pretty busy. We also have 3 angel baby boys that we know we will be with after this life. We have so many different personalities in this house but there is one thing for sure...we love each other and are grateful for this family! What a great life!
