Grandma Christensen

My computer has been in the shop a couple of times and I haven't been able to download pictures. Well, today I finally got it figured out so I need to blog about my Grandma Christensen. On July 24th, she turned 101. What a woman! I think often about her and wonder why she is still on this earth. She prays daily to be able to return "home" but still she stays. She has taught me so much throughout the years. I was fortunate to be able to live with her when my parents got divorced. I loved every minute of living with her. She taught me so much and I loved sitting around listening to all of her stories. When I go see her now, I cry. I cry because sometimes she remembers me and sometimes she doesn't. She always remembers Tevita though. Before we got married I took him to meet her. She loved him instantly. She whispered to me that day something I will never forget. She said, "Jodi, I knew him in heaven. We were friends and I am glad he found you." I so believe that was true. There is a picture of her hands that I am blogging about. Look at those beautiful hands. They have been through so much hardship, but look at them. They are hands of a hard worker, of a loving mother, grandmother, great grandma, great great grandma. Those hands have made countless amounts of bread. Those hands have crocheted (sp) so many beautiful afaghans. Those hands are the hands that I used to hold when I couldn't hold my mom's hands. They have always been comforting to me. When we went over to celebrate her birthday I had a hard time letting go of those hands. I love her so much and am so thankful to have her be here still. I am sad for her but I know she is still here to teach us all some lessons. I love you Grandma!

What a beautiful post. Grandparents are so wonderful. I can't believe that your Grandma is 101. That is remarkable.

I hope that you are feeling well. It sounds like you are very busy. Thank you for your comments on my blog, it helped a lot. I know I shouldn't let his comment get to me but it brought back so many memories of my childhood. Thank you for your love and support.

Your grandma is such a special woman, Jodi. What an example! She has always been such a kind woman. You are so blessed to have known her so well. Not everyone gets the opportunity to know their great-grandparents. I'm sure the days are hard for her, but you're right. She's here for a reason. She has a lot to teach us.

About Me

My photo
Tevita and I met 13 years ago in Provo Utah. What a cutie he was! In June we will have been married for 12 years. It is hard to believe that we have been married that long but yep, here we are coming up on 12. We have 5 beautiful children that keep us pretty busy. We also have 3 angel baby boys that we know we will be with after this life. We have so many different personalities in this house but there is one thing for sure...we love each other and are grateful for this family! What a great life!
